FOR BOOK CLUBS

Bring King Legacy to Your Book Club

Pick the book. Read it together. Then the author calls in — live, by phone — and your club asks him anything.

No video. No stage. Just real conversation, over the air.

HOW IT WORKS

Four steps

1. Pick your book. Three club favorites are below, each with discussion questions ready to go. Every King Legacy title is on the table — if your club wants a different one, ask.

2. Get your copies. Each book below links to every store that carries it — ebook and paperback. Everybody reads their own way.

3. Set your date. Reach out through the contact links at the bottom of this page, and we'll find a time. King Legacy works a day job — he's King Legacy's biggest investor — so calls are scheduled around it, usually evenings.

4. He calls in. On the day, King Legacy joins your meeting by telephone for a live Q&A with your members. Bring the hard questions. He'd rather answer those.

REALITY

Urban smart street lit · eBook $0.99

The truth isn't given. It's taken. In New York, one strategist refuses to be a pawn in a game built on lies — and starts taking his pieces back. The book that started the catalog, and the first half of a two-book saga (the story continues in REALITY II: THE EVOLUTION).

Discussion questions:

  1. Reality treats life like a chessboard. Where does that way of thinking protect him — and where does it cost him?
  2. The book opens with a simple claim: power isn't handed out, it's claimed. Who in the story claims power, and who waits to be given it? What separates them?
  3. How does the New York setting shape the choices the characters believe they have?
  4. Reality is a strategist, a survivor, and — in his own way — a teacher. Which of those three is he most, by the middle of the book?
  5. Loyalty runs through this story, but so does manipulation. How can you tell them apart in the world of this book?
  6. The ending has started arguments in every conversation about this book. Without spoiling it for anyone who hasn't finished: what did you expect, and what did you get?
  7. If your club reads one more, REALITY II picks the story up fourteen years later. What do you most want answered?

IT'S NOT OKAY!

A novel of marriage, violence, and survival

Jessica loved Thomas since high school. She married him anyway. Then the man who called her his goddess started using her as his punching bag — until one night, the pain got louder than the fear. A story for every woman who's ever been told to stay quiet, and for every club ready to talk about why leaving is never simple.

A note for clubs: this novel does not look away from domestic violence. Some members may find parts of it close to home. Read it in care, discuss it in honesty.

Discussion questions:

  1. Jessica and Thomas begin as high-school sweethearts. What does the book show about how love and control can wear the same face at first?
  2. The layoffs and the bottles arrive before the violence escalates. How does the book connect pressure, pride, and harm — without excusing any of it?
  3. "If he loves you, he won't shove you." Where does that line land in the story, and what does it ask of the people around Jessica — friends, family, church, neighbors?
  4. Why is "just leave" the wrong summary of a story like this? What does the book make visible that the phrase hides?
  5. Jessica's journey is described as victim to voice. What does "voice" mean for her — who hears her, and what changes when they do?
  6. What responsibility does a community carry in a story like this one? Where did Jessica's community show up, and where did it fail her?
  7. The title is a complete sentence with an exclamation point: IT'S NOT OKAY! Who in the book needs to hear it most?
CLUB PICK · A TRUE STORY

BONNIE

Her Faith. Her Fight. Her Legacy.

A true story. Bonnie's life was one of unwavering faith, relentless strength, and a love that never faded — through quiet moments of prayer and battles faced with courage. For clubs that read real lives: this is the book King Legacy wrote about family, and the one that asks what a legacy actually is.

Discussion questions:

  1. The book's promise is three words: faith, fight, legacy. Where does each one show up strongest in Bonnie's story?
  2. Bonnie is the author's aunt. How does knowing the writer is family change the way you read the telling?
  3. What does this book suggest a legacy is made of — money, name, faith, example? What did Bonnie leave, and to whom?
  4. Every family has someone whose strength held the line. Who is that person in yours, and what did this book bring back for you?
  5. The book says a beautiful soul never truly leaves. Where does Bonnie's presence continue in the lives around her?
  6. What would you ask the author about writing his own family's story — the parts that are hardest to put on a page?
